Let's Write! A Workshop for Kids and Adults

10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Event Details

Kids and a parent or caregiver can enjoy this virtual writing workshop together! Novelist Myra Levine’s approach to writing has two simple steps: 1) Think of an interesting story (true or imaginary); 2) Let the words fly!

We’ll start with a few exercises to stretch our writing muscles—remember Metaphors and Similes? How about Point of View? Dialog? These are the tools that make writing fun and interesting. Then we’ll move on to fun and thought-provoking writing prompts. Everybody works at their own level, and we don’t grade!  Myra will give first lines like, “The funniest thing happened when…” and you’ll be amazed at what you and your kids can do.

Registration with email required for Zoom meeting invitation.

While HEPL staff will work to ensure patron safety during virtual programs, it is understood that all participants in our Zoom meetings agree to the Zoom privacy policy here and that each participant will practice safe online behavior using the guidance at connectsafely.org.
