This Cuban art form is presented with a high level of student interaction. Participants will learn the chancleta, a dance created by African slaves popular in the eastern part of Cuba. They will learn the tradition’s rhythms as both dancers and drummers.
Registration is required for this introductory workshop, and it is open to adults, teens, and youth in grades 5 and up. All participants will be required to sign a waiver of liability for physical activity upon arrival—minors must have a parent/guardian complete the waiver.
