Event Details

Land records can tell us more about our ancestors than the simple fact that land was bought and sold. These records can prove ancestry and family relationships, point to new research directions, and tell us about the lifestyles of our ancestors. While they can sometimes be difficult to locate, confusing to interpret, they are sometimes the only records available for colonial ancestors. This program will explore the value of using land records and how to use such things as maps, atlases, and gazetteers to focus your research. Registration is required.
