On Tuesday, September 25, at 7 p.m. at the Fishers Library, and again on Wednesday, October 17, at 7 p.m. at the Noblesville Library, Attorney Jeffery D. Stinson will discuss a cash pension benefit for veterans and spouses in need of long-term care. This pension benefit is for veterans and surviving spouses of veterans who require the regular assistance of another person. Veterans and spouses can use the pension benefit to pay for personal care in the home, assisted living care, adult day care, or other needed long-term care services. The benefit is a pension benefit and not dependent upon service-connected injuries for qualification. This program will review pension eligibility criteria, the amount of benefit available, and ways the benefit can be maximized to finance alternatives to institutionalized care. Mr. Stinson will also discuss the application process and offer tips when filing an application.
Mr. Stinson is the managing partner of Severns & Stinson and has been with the firm since 1998.
