Event Details

Award winning composer/performer C. Bryan Rulon talks about his music, composing and the state of contemporary concert music. Where do composers get their ideas? How do they organize them? What or who influences them? Who are they writing for? Mr. Rulon will present “MessMixExpress” for ensemble and computer sounds; “Divine Detours” for flute, clarinet, violin, cello, percussion and music boxes; and “Arpeggicide” for computer. He will contextualize these compositions from a social, musical and historical point of view. Questions and answers will be an important part of the event.
