This class will introduce participants to the various types of cemeteries, what records are available, how to find the “bodies,” what the funny symbols engraved on the stones mean, and how they can lead to more information. Learn how to research cemeteries online while never having to actually set foot in a cemetery. Gather tips on how to prepare for an actual trip to a cemetery, find your ancestor’s stone and take photos of it. The class will end at 12:30 for participants to enjoy lunch on their own and will reconvene at Crownland Cemetery on Monument Drive at 2:00 pm for a tour of the cemetery grounds. Registration is required for both the class and the tour.
