Peg Adams has been basket weaving for 25 years and teaching for 20 years. You could say she come from a family of weavers as her Mom weaves baskets and wheat weavings plus her oldest sister weaves baskets and fiber pieces on the loom.
Peg states "My heart is blessed as I teach basket weaving, especially when a first-time weaver completes a basket. In our busy culture so few of us actually create anything from raw materials today. For those of us who love to create, to build and to hold life in our hands, weaving is a most gratifying experience. I invite you to come weave with me."
You can expect to learn the basic plaited basket skills that you will need to begin weaving solo. The class fee includes all of the supplies for the basket project. You will need to bring the household tools listed:
1 2 gal bucket or dish pan (water tight)
1 Old towel (the reed will be wet)
1 Measuring tape and/or ruler
1 Old pair scissors
1 Skinny flat head screw driver
1 Pencil
10 Spring clothes pins
If you do not have all of these items or forget something, I will have extra tools available. I look forward to meeting you in the classroom.
